Alivia Flewellen
I founded Flewellen Counseling in 2023 to help women stop fighting their bodies and start feeling at home in them. If you’ve felt trapped in obsessive food thoughts, fear of weight gain, or cycles of shame and control, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to stay stuck. I offer a compassionate space where you can untangle those patterns, reconnect with yourself, and build a more peaceful, empowered relationship with your body and mind.
I became a social worker because I care deeply about healing on both personal and systemic levels. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in eating disorder treatment programs, supported individuals experiencing psychosis and homelessness, created programs for low-income families, hosted body positivity groups for teen girls, and taught life skills like budgeting and emotional regulation.
Today, in addition to my therapy practice, I also teach in the social work program at the University of Nevada, Reno. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe in their body and confident in their voice.
